Dear Family & Friends:
So it was way fun, we decided Friday afternoon that Maryann would absolutely love a "heart-attack", but we needed a way that we could get into her building. So we decided to call her up and go and visit her, but before hand we put the tape on all of the hearts and stuffed them in my coat pocket. We got to Maryann's and then I asked to use the restroom, I went in and heart-attacked the bathroom door and then flushed the toilet and washed my hands for sound effects. haha 30 minutes after we left we had a voicemail on our phone from Maryann saying that she had just found the hearts and how it made her day/week! She was so excited on the phone it was so cute and totally made our day as well!
We finished another transfer and have started a new transfer. They seem to fly by! Sister Brown and I are staying together for another transfer here in Des Moines! So Thursday was only the 2nd transfer meeting that either one of us have missed.
This week was great! On Monday it was President Jensen's birthday so we were able to take him a birthday present and visit with him and Sister Jensen briefly! Tuesday we had service at the YMCA and then had English with some of the Bermese members. We also had a lesson with Francis which went well and we were able to take one of the member's niece who leaves for her mission the end of March. Since Wednesday was our pday last week we went over to the mission home briefly and helped Elder and Sister Warner (Senior couple serving in Nauvoo) prepare for the incoming missionaries. Thursday we were able to visit Carrie and she has grown so much in the short amount of time that I have known here! She now is the one offering to say the prayers and looks forward to reading from the Book of Mormon. Friday was a great day and a wonderful Valentine's day! Elder and Sister Crapo took Sister Brown and I out to lunch at The Cheesecake factory and gave us each a scarf that Sister Crapo had made. After lunch Sister Brown and I "heart-attacked" several of the single women in our ward! We only got caught once! Anyways it was a lot of fun! And we even managed to get Maryann's door even though she lives in a locked apartment! We also had dinner with the Hart family (so fitting for Valentine's day!) Saturday we had our district meeting. We have 3 new elders in our district. Sister Brown has been coordinating/putting together a musical fireside that took place Sunday evening, so this week was a little crazy making sure everything was in place for the fireside! We were able to involve a lot of the members so we had probably 60 or so people that attended, not as many as we hoped for, but still an alright turnout. The music was great for it and Sister Brown sang "Savior Redeemer of my Soul" the arrangement that is from the movie "17 Miracles." With a violin solo and accompaniment! It was so amazing! And so now she has been asked to sing it for Zone Conference in a week from Tuesday!
Well I hope you have a wonderful week!
Love, Sister Call
I forgot. Sunday after church we had an early dinner/late lunch with the Gardner's and they made us breakfast around the world in honor of the Olympics! Super cute and way fun! Only hard part was they made us rate the different countries and award them medals. We had French toast, Swedish pancakes, American pancakes, and German pancakes!
